Crash on the Koppenberg. Jesper Skibby led the 1987 Ronde van Vlaanderen at the foot of the notorious Koppenberg climb. The cobbled surface was far worse then than it is now, and Skibby slipped and fell. With the others catching him fast, the driver of this race vehicle panicked and drove over the wheels of Skibby’s bike to get out of the way.
